Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star Game

 
The 2024 Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star Football Game is scheduled for 11:30 AM on Saturday, December 21 at Milner Stadium (Gulfport High School -Gulfport, MS).

Click the tabs to the right to electronically submit your Player or Manager Nomination forms.  Please be sure to review the guidelines (listed at the bottom of this page) prior to submitting your nominations to ensure that your player is eligible. Important dates are listed below for meeting times and deadlines.  

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • All-Star Football Nominations must be electronically submitted by Wednesday, September 18.
  • Football All-Stars will be selected on Wednesday, October 2.  Players will be announced at the All-Star Football Press Conference.
  • Team Meetings will be held Sunday, October 6 at 1:00 PM.
    • BBC North Team:  Grenada High School
    • BBC South Team:  Oak Grove High School
  • All-Star Player Participation Forms must be submitted by Wednesday, October 9.
  • North/South Football All-Stars will report on Wednesday, December 18.  â€‹Pick up locations & times were discussed at the team meetings.
    • ​​10:00 AM- Mississippi College (A.E. Wood Coliseum parking lot located on Highway 80 between Springridge Road & Clinton-Raymond Road.
    • 11:30 AM- Collins (Pine Tree Village parking lot on Highway 49)
    • 12:00 NOON- Hattiesburg (Stuckey's parking lot on Highway 49/I-59)
    • 1:30 PM- Gulfport (Air National Guard Base, 4715 Hewes Ave.)
  • The Bernard Blackwell Classic North/South All-Star Football Banquet will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, December 20 at the Lyman Community Center (13742 US 49, Gulfport, MS  39503).
  • The 2024 Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star Football Game is scheduled for 11:30 AM on Saturday, December 21 in Gulfport, MS (Gulfport High School’s Milner Stadium, 1403 38th Ave., Gulfport, MS)
    • ​The 2024 Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star Football Game will be livestreamed through FNUTL.com.  It will also be available through the MAC Network, Roku, AppleTV, YouTube & Firestick.   ​

 


Guidelines for the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Football Classic

I. Selection of Coaches:
HEAD COACH-
•  Must be a current member of the M.A.C.
• Must have been a member of the M.A.C. for at least three (3) consecutive years.
• Must be a current Head Coach in a MHSAA member school and have been a Head Coach for a minimum of 3 years prior to the game (can include the fall preceding coaching in the BBC All-Star Game)
• Head Coach must have served as an On-the-Field Assistant Coach in the game.
• Head Coach will be given an honorarium.
 
ASSISTANT COACHES-
•  Must be a current member of the M.A.C.
• Must have been a member of the M.A.C. for at least three (3) consecutive years.
• Must be a current Head Coach in a MHSAA member school and have been a Head Coach for a minimum of 3 years prior to the game (can include the fall preceding coaching in the BBC All-Star Game)
• Assistant Coaches will receive an honorarium.
• 6 Assistant Coaches will be selected for each team.
 
SCOUT COACH-
•  Must be a current member of the M.A.C.
• Must have been a member of the M.A.C. for at least three (3) consecutive years.
• Must be a current Head Coach in a MHSAA member school and have been a Head Coach for a minimum of 3 years prior to the game (can include the fall preceding coaching in the BBC All-Star Game)
• The Head Coaches of the North & the South will pick their own Scout Coach
• Serving as the Scout Coach does not count as serving as On-the-Field Assistant Coach.
• Qualified coaches can serve as a BBC Scout Coach as many times as they wish.
 
ALL BBC COACHES-
•  Must be a current member of the M.A.C.
• Can only coach in one all-star game per year.
• Must abide by the M.A.C. Code of Ethics.
• Must cooperate with the M.A.C. in the sale of ads.
• Must have demonstrated by past performance that he will fulfill all commitments he made concerning his All-Star player(s)/manager as required and specified to by the M.A.C.
• Recommendations for these All-Star Coaches come from M.A.C. Football Committee based on nomination forms submitted by individual coaches; final approval by the M.A.C. Executive Committee.
• In the event that a BBC North/South Head Football Coach forfeits their right to coach in the games, the Executive Director and Football Committee Chairman have the authority to appoint a successor.
 
II. Selection of Players and Managers:
• Must be a senior graduating with his regular class and in good standing with MHSAA, MAC, respective school & coaching staff.
• Must respond to all dated material by the date requested.
• Must cooperate with the M.A.C. in the sale of ads.
• Must exhibit positive attitude to those in charge at all times.
• Cannot wear earrings.
• Forty five (45) players will be chosen per team. Each of the eight MHSAA districts must be guaranteed at least one (1) selection, each of the seven (7) MHSAA classifications must be guaranteed one (1) selection. A minimum of eight selections will be reserved for 1A/2A/3A players.  There can be 3 players selected from the same school (limited to only 2 schools) except as replacement players with prior approval of the Executive Director.
 
** A player or coach may be dismissed from the All-Star team at any time by the MAC Executive Director for not complying with these guidelines.
 
III.  To be eligible for selection, all player/manager  nominations must be electronically submitted on the M.A.C. website five working days before the date of the Selection Committee Meeting.
